Fishing Licenses and Information
Alaska Department of Fish and Game: You cannot hunt, fish, or trap in Alaska without a valid license in your possession. You can get yours online before heading to Yakutat by going here: www.admin.adfg.state.ak.us/license/
Halibut Regulations: The National Marine Fisheries Service set the halibut bag limit at 2 per person daily, with one any size and one max of 28″ inches.*
* YCBC will participate in the Guided Angler Fish (GAF) program and can offer clients the opportunity to harvest up to two halibut of any size per day for an additional fee. Additionally, guests have the option to fish on days restricted for charter halibut fishing, using the GAF program (for all fish caught). If you are interested in participating in the GAF program, please let us know and we can share more information.

15th Annual Yakutat Tern Festival (late-May, early-June)
The festival is a celebration of the natural and cultural resources of Yakutat, Alaska. Yakutat hosts one of the largest and southernmost known nesting colonies of Aleutian Terns, as well as Arctic Terns and up to 200 other bird species that nest or migrate through the area. The festival is family-friendly and offers activities for birders as well as non-birders, including seminars, specialty lunches, a barbecue, kids’ activities, and other programs. Other area activities include sightseeing, hiking, fishing, surfing, canoeing and kayaking, wildlife viewing, and beach-combing.
